Process notes
Single continuous run through the purification column at steady state. Light and heavy fractions directed away from the product stream; the clean center cut collected across a deliberately narrow window. Proofed to 40% ABV with purified water in two stages, rested before bottling, and passed by panel evaluation against the reference standard.
Sensory notes
- Nose: very quiet at first pour — faint grain sweetness emerges with a few minutes in the glass
- Palate: soft entry, gentle mid-palate sweetness, no sting at the front
- Texture: round and slightly weighty for the proof
- Finish: short, clean, and warm rather than hot
Distiller's observations
This is a sample batch record — a placeholder entry showing the format our batch pages will follow. When production batches are bottled, each QR code will resolve to its own real record on this template, with data specific to the liquid in your hand.
This batch came off the column the way we like: a stable run, a narrow center cut, and nothing in the panel notes that needed explaining away. The most common word in the tasting log is “quiet,” which for a vodka is the compliment. Whatever character is here arrives late and softly — give it a warmer glass and a few minutes and a light grain sweetness shows up, exactly where the base spirit says it should be.
Our recommendation for a first pour: taste it before you mix it. Start with The Control, then run Experiments #001 through #003 with this bottle — temperature, dilution, and glassware are where this batch has the most to show. The experiment continues; this page will grow as the batch archive does.

The Chill Factor
One vodka, three temperatures, three noticeably different drinks.
EXPERIMENT #002Finding the Flavor Proof
Water isn't cheating — it's an instrument. Find the proof where flavor opens up.
EXPERIMENT #003Glass Matters
Same vodka, three glasses, three different noses. Geometry is flavor.

The Control
- 1.5 oz (45 ml) Valence Vodka
- Nothing else — that's the experiment
Chill a small glass in the refrigerator (not the freezer) along with the bottle for at least an hour. Pour 1.5 oz (45 ml), smell before you sip, and let the glass warm slightly as you go — the aroma opens as the temperature rises.
